Affiliate Referral Program Terms
1. Relationship to Website Terms
These Affiliate Referral Program Terms (“Affiliate Terms”) apply in addition to the Malted Merch Website Terms & Conditions.
By participating in the Affiliate Referral Program, affiliates agree to be bound by:
- These Affiliate Referral Terms, and
- The general Malted Merch Website Terms & Conditions
In the event of any conflict or inconsistency, these Affiliate Terms shall prevail only in relation to affiliate and referral matters.
2. Program Overview
The Malted Merch Affiliate Program allows approved affiliates to earn a commission on qualifying sales that are successfully referred to Malted Merch using an assigned referral code or identifier.
Participation in the program is optional and subject to approval by Malted Merch.
3. Platform & Website Scope
The Affiliate Program applies exclusively to purchases completed through the official Malted Merch website:
Purchases made through third-party platforms, white-label storefronts, or affiliated sites — including but not limited to:
www.maltedmerch.deco-apparel.com
are expressly excluded from the Affiliate Program and do not qualify for commission or profit sharing.
Malted Merch may operate multiple websites or sales channels, and participation in the Affiliate Program does not automatically extend to all platforms unless expressly stated in writing.
4. Eligibility & Territory
This affiliate program is open only to individuals and businesses based in South Africa.
Commissions apply only to sales made on the South African version of the website and paid for in South African Rand (ZAR).
Sales generated via the United States website, international storefronts, or non-South African checkout systems are excluded from this affiliate program and do not qualify for commission.
Affiliates must have a valid South African bank account in order to receive commission payments.
Malted Merch reserves the right to determine, at its sole discretion, whether a sale qualifies as a South African transaction.
5. Commission Rate
Affiliates earn a commission equal to 30% of net profit on qualifying sales, calculated strictly in accordance with the commission formula outlined in Section 6 of these terms.
Malted Merch reserves the right to amend the commission rate with reasonable notice. Any changes will apply prospectively and will not affect commissions already earned.
6. Commission Structure
Affiliate commission is calculated according to the following formula:
Commission = (Selling Price – Item Cost Price – Platform Costs – Payment Processing Costs) × Commission Percentage
For clarity:
- Selling Price refers to the final price paid by the customer for the product, excluding shipping and taxes unless otherwise stated.
- Item Cost Price includes manufacturing, printing, and fulfilment costs.
- Platform Costs include applicable fees charged by Shopify or other ecommerce infrastructure used by Malted Merch.
- Payment Processing Costs include payment gateway and transaction fees.
- Commission Percentage is currently fixed at 30% of net profit, as set out in Section 5, and may be amended at Malted Merch’s discretion in accordance with these terms.
7. Qualifying Sales
A qualifying sale must meet all of the following conditions:
- The order is successfully completed and paid in full.
- The order is not cancelled, refunded, or subject to a chargeback.
- The sale is clearly attributable to an affiliate through a referral code or order note.
Malted Merch reserves the right to decline commissions where attribution is unclear, disputed, or reasonably suspected of abuse.
8. Use of Referral Codes
Affiliates agree to:
- Promote Malted Merch honestly and in good faith.
- Avoid misleading, deceptive, or false claims.
- Use referral codes ethically and responsibly.
The following are prohibited:
- Misrepresentation of Malted Merch products or pricing.
- Use of referral codes in spam, scams, or misleading promotions.
- Any attempt to manipulate, game, or falsify referrals.
- Self-referrals may be restricted or disallowed at Malted Merch’s discretion.
Malted Merch reserves the right to suspend or revoke referral privileges if misuse is identified.
9. Payment of Commissions
- Commissions are calculated manually unless otherwise stated.
- Payments are made periodically (e.g. monthly) via EFT, subject to internal processing schedules.
- A minimum payout threshold may apply. Any applicable minimum payout threshold will be communicated to the affiliate upon approval or prior to payout.
- Commissions are payable only after the applicable refund or cooling-off period has passed.
No commission will be paid on refunded, reversed, or fraudulent transactions.
10. Banking Details
Banking details will only be requested once commission has been earned and is payable. Such details will be used solely for the purpose of processing commission payments and will not be retained longer than reasonably necessary.
11. Program Changes & Termination
Malted Merch reserves the right to:
- Modify commission percentages or calculation methods.
- Amend or update these Affiliate Terms.
- Suspend or terminate the Affiliate Program at any time.
Valid commissions earned prior to termination will be paid in accordance with these terms.
12. Independent Relationship
Affiliates participate as independent promoters and are not employees, partners, agents, or representatives of Malted Merch.
Affiliates are responsible for any applicable tax obligations arising from commission payments.
13. No Guarantee of Earnings
Malted Merch makes no guarantees regarding the volume of sales, commission earnings, or success of any affiliate. Participation in the Affiliate Program does not guarantee any level of income, and results will vary based on individual effort and market conditions.
14. Final Determination
All commission calculations, eligibility decisions, and payout determinations made by Malted Merch are final.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Malted Merch shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from participation in the Affiliate Program, including but not limited to loss of anticipated income or business opportunity.
16. Acceptance of Terms
Participation in the Malted Merch Affiliate Program is voluntary.
By using a referral or promotional code issued by Malted Merch, the affiliate acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Affiliate Program Terms, as well as the Malted Merch Website Terms & Conditions.
